Popakademie alumnus provides sound for the TECHNOarena

01. October 2025

The TECHNOSEUM now offers a new, innovative format for science communication that takes visitors behind the scenes of research and development: the specially designed TECHNOarena regularly hosts high-profile institutions that present innovations in the field of future technologies, from smart robots to sustainable energy solutions – long before they are ready for the market.

The premiere was organized by the FZI Research Center for Information Technology in Karlsruhe with a science performance and the robot “Spot,” which launched the TECHNOarena at the push of a button. The TECHNOarena is financially supported by the Neumüller Becker Entrepreneurial Foundation. The music composed especially for the arena was penned by Mannheim musician and Popakademie graduate David König.

David König completed both his bachelor's (Pop Music Design B.A.) and master's (Popular Music M.A.) degrees at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg. He created the sound for the new TECHNOarena on behalf of the artist agency KLINKT. Since 2007, the academy's own agency for music services has been placing solo musicians, bands, and producers from the Popakademie for live events or projects in the field of music marketing.

The TECHNOarena regularly hosts events for young and old. The dates for this year's various events have already been set. The TECHNOSEUM makes technical developments understandable and illustrates their influence on people's living and working conditions. It highlights the opportunities and risks of modern technologies. As a foundation under public law, the TECHNOSEUM is supported by the city of Mannheim and the state of Baden-Württemberg.
