Success at the Preis für Popkultur: Mine and Phea honored

Two artists with Popakademie connections were honored at this year's Preis für Popkultur: the singer, songwriter and producer Mine and the up-and-coming artist Phea won their respective categories at the eighth award ceremony.
The award in the Favorite Video category went to Mine for the visually impressive music video for her song Ich weiß es nicht. The former master's student at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg has been a constant in the German-speaking pop landscape for years. Her artistic work is characterized by aesthetic depth, a clear attitude and innovative audiovisual concepts.Phea, a current student on the Pop Musik Design Bachelor's degree program at the Popakademie, also impressed the jury: she was awarded the Favorite Producer prize - a category that places particular emphasis on the creative and technical implementation of modern pop music. In her work, Phea combines sensitive songwriting with contemporary production and exemplifies a new generation of musically accomplished female producers.The artist Paula Hartmann was also awarded the prize twice. She is managed by an alumna from the Music and Creative Industries Master's program, Lisa Ruetz, artist manager and managing director at HABITAT musikmanagement. Once again, this is a fine example of the many successes of our graduates.The Preis für Popkultur has been awarded annually in Berlin by the association of the same name since 2016 and is considered one of the most important awards for artists in the German-speaking world who work independently, innovatively and across genres with pop music. The award deliberately relies on a democratic election: the approximately 900 members of the association - including cultural professionals, media representatives and artists - vote for the winners.The awards once again underline the role of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg as an important talent factory in the field of popular music.
