Pop academics at the 22nd International Schiller Days

21. June 2023

Under the motto "Beautiful world, where are you?" the Schiller Days from June 22nd to July 2nd 2023 ask for utopias and alternative designs for our future, our world and our coexistence. So that the local music scene also becomes visible and audible, local bands and DJs will perform at the "Schill-Outs". Sometimes krautrock, sometimes feelgood pop, sometimes hip-hop is the order of the day. For the third time in a row, the international music program will be curated by the operators of the "Kiosk" in Neckarstadt-West, Julian Bender and Ricarda Rausch.

They are at home in the indie world, their adopted countries are Cologne & Oakland and their origins are in Mannheim: David Schnitzler and Elias Foerster (Pop Music Design B.A.). Under the name Sea Moya they offer Krautrock paired with Afrobeat influences, funky bass and a hint of lightness on Thursday, June 22.
With their music, the two create a great start for the opening ceremony of the 22nd International Schiller Days.
Authentic and genuine: that's Shelly Phillips (Pop Music Design B.A. student) music captured at its core. Her modern pop sound is drawn from personal experiences as well as rock, orchestral and electronic influences. The result is an interplay of energetic and calm influences as well as joyful and melancholic moods at the same time. On Monday, 26.06. she will be live.
On Wednesday, 28.06. the artist Henny Herz (Popular Music M.A.) enchants with delicate, sensitive and slightly jazzy folk-pop, which together with thoughtful lyrics creates an immediacy and familiarity. She is in her own musical world, marked by highs and lows.
