Popakademie hosts World Drum Festival

On Saturday, November 25, 2023, the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the Cultural Office of the City of Mannheim and the European drum and percussion association "Percussion Creativ" will host the ninth World Drum Festival. This year, the World Drum Festival is curated by Anika Nilles.

"I am very excited to curate the ninth edition of the World Drum Festival. We have once again succeeded in assembling an international line-up of top-class artists. We invite all interested drummers and percussionists to the World Drum Festival at the Popakademie," says Anika Nilles, Department Chief Drums at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Among the participants are internationally renowned drummers and percussionists such as Philo Tsoungui (drums/hybrid), Camille Bigeault (drums), Bodek Janke (percussion), Paul Albrecht (drums), Rhani Krija (percussion/hybrid), Stephan Emig (drums/hybrid), Lui Ludwig (drums) and Murat Coşkun (framedrums). Anika Nilles, Department Chief Drums Popakademie and Prof. Udo Dahmen, Managing Director (ret.) Popakademie Baden-Württemberg host the event on November 25. The concert in the evening will be streamed live.
