Music in the hybrid age is the topic of Zukunft Pop

03. December 2020

At the Zukunft Pop conference on Saturday, 12 December 2020, starting at 12 noon, experts from the music scene will address the topic of music in the hybrid age. This year, the conference will take place online.
Guests include Alice Merton, Robert Montoto, Rainer Kern, Susann Eichstädt, MADANII and Novaa.

The current situation has accelerated the trend to shift concerts more and more into digital space - we are in a hybrid age.
What perspectives does the digitalisation of pop culture open up for musicians in particular? The conference will discuss this question in two panels, with keynote speeches highlighting opportunities.

One panel will explore hybrid perspectives and discuss the question: Virus kills Pop Culture? Guests are Alice Merton (singer), Andrea Rothaug (Rockcity e.V./Music Women Germany), Noura Labbani (Creator Partnerships Manager Patreon) and Susann Eichstädt (Deputy Secretary General of the German Music Council).

Another panel will focus on the future of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region after Corona. Guests are Dr. Matthias Rauch (Next Mannheim), Zora Brändle (Eventkultur Rhein-Neckar/halle 02), Julia Nagele (Singer/Music BW Women), Robert Montoto (Kulturbüro MRN) and Rainer Kern (Enjoy Jazz Festival).

A conversation between the musicians MADANII and Novaa will shed light on the situation for young creative people. Novaa will conclude the conference with a concert.

Registration until 10.12. under zukunftpop@popakademie.de required. The participation is free of charge.

The conference format of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg was initiated by Prof. Udo Dahmen in 2009 and is funded by the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg.
