Mannheim reception at the Reeperbahn Festival 2025

25. September 2025

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, the city of Mannheim, and equipment insurer I'M SOUND presented themselves at the joint reception “Meet the Mannheimers” at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg. Over 300 friends of the Popakademie attended the event at the DOT Club.

"Without music, things get quiet. Without instruments, too. As equipment insurers, we have been supporting the music scene for many years, not only as an insurance provider but also as a cooperation partner, and we enjoy being where we can meet our target group. The reception at the Reeperbahn Festival is a great opportunity for us to exchange ideas with interested parties and customers," says Janina Klabes, I'M SOUND brand manager at Haus der Mannheimer Versicherung AG, one of the leading instrument insurers on the market.

“Meet The Mannheimers” and the presence of the UNESCO Creative City of Music have become a fixture at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, the most important industry event for the music industry in Germany. I am delighted that well over 300 people accepted our invitation again this year to exchange ideas with Mannheim musicians and make new contacts," says Dr. Matthias Rauch, Head of the Creative Economy Cluster at the City of Mannheim's Economic and Structural Development Department.

“The ‘Meet the Mannheimers’ event on the Reeperbahn has now established itself as an integral part of the festival program. It's great that so many visitors attended again this year. Many thanks to our two partners, without whom the event would not have been possible,” said Michael Herberger, Business Director and Managing Director of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, and Derek von Krogh, Artistic Director and Managing Director of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

This year's special guests at the reception were Buffasyze b2b KEMARE. The two DJs and producers have long been established in their scene and got to know each other while studying for their B.A. in Pop Music Design at the Popakademie. Together, they launched the “Club 003” project there—a club event that created a stage exclusively for electronic music and DJs in a live context at the Popakademie, where students have since had the opportunity to realize their own electronic artist projects in live situations.
