Cyanite by Popakademie alumni continues on course for success
17. March 2025
The AI program Cyanite, founded by the three Popakademie alumni Jakob Höflich, Markus Schwarzer and Joshua Weikert, continues to expand and succeed.
With the integration into SourceAudio, one of the world's leading sync and catalog management platforms, the AI technology is now integrated into almost all leading music CMS and is therefore considered the standard for music search and catalog management in the music industry. Cyanite works with artificial intelligence and analyzes and visualizes songs in terms of their emotional profile. This is intended to help actors in film, advertising or games to select music quickly and accurately. Jakob, Markus and Joshua met at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2014. All three were studying for a Master's degree in Music and Creative Industries. As part of the project workshop, the practice-oriented part of the course, they developed the Groovecat video social media app and took their first steps towards self-employment together. A year later, they founded their music AI start-up Cyanite, which is now the leading provider of AI-driven solutions for analyzing and searching for music with over 150 business customers and 200.000 private users. In 2023, the company won the VIA Award for “Best New Music Company”.
