Pape Samory Seck


West-African Percussion

Pape Samory Seck received his musical education in the large family clan of the Senegalese Griot family Seck, in the musician's quarter Pikine. He studied and refined his art at the Centre Culturel Blaise Senghor and the École Nationale des Arts. His instruments include djembé, doun do, sabar, serouba, conga, bougarabou, asico and tama (talking drum).

Since 1997 he has lived permanently in Germany and is considered one of the most sought-after percussionists for African rhythms. However, he also serves other musical genres such as jazz, global music, pop, classical and traditional music with virtuosity.
