Popakademie visits six schools in the metropolitan region
24. February 2020
For two days at a time, six schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region will have pop music on their curriculum in March 2020. Students and lecturers of the world music course of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg are also part of the 15th edition of "Pop macht Schule". BASF SE is the main sponsor of the educational project.
Founding bands, learning to play instruments and writing lyrics - for two whole days during the coaching period from 2 to 20 March 2020, pop music will once again be on the curriculum of six selected schools in the metropolitan region. While many pupils hold an instrument in their hands for the first time in the morning at the beginning of school, they are already on stage at noon and present songs with partly self-written lyrics to their classmates and teachers. Existing school bands and music clubs receive tips and tricks from experienced musicians of the Popakademie to put the finishing touches to their rehearsed songs. Intensive coaching in small groups makes this quick success possible. The creative approach to pop music playfully promotes the social competence of the young people. At the final concert of the participating schools from Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Wuerttemberg and Hesse on May 8, 2020, all bands will perform in front of a large audience on stage at the Popakademie in Mannheim. The six participating schools of "Pop macht Schule" 2020:- Eugen Bachmann School Wald-Michelbach
